I. Working Principle
Infrared rays shine into the sample colorimetric bottle, and the light is refracted in all directions due to the particles in the water. The detector composed of photosensitive diodes is at a 90° angle to the light source. The refracted light is measured and converted into voltage data, and then into turbidity data, the unit is: NTU.

II. Specifications
Range: 0~1000NT, resolution: 0.1NT

III. Structure and function
1. The sensor terminal comes with a high-sensitivity, 2.8-inch LCD touch screen;
2. The sensor terminal has a built-in multi-style detection chamber, which can place cuvettes, test tubes, etc.;
3. The sensor terminal supports three replaceable detection chambers, support standard cuvettes, 12mm test tubes and 18mm test tubes;
4. The sensor terminal has an independent power switch, one USB interface;
5. The sensor terminal has a built-in 1000mAH rechargeable battery;
6. The sensor terminal has installed operating software, which can save over 70,000 sets of experimental data, and support one-click data export;
7. The wireless module of the sensor can send data to the terminal platform wirelessly.

IV. Typical applications
This sensor is used to measure the clarity of water, which is an important indicator of water quality. High turbidity means the water is turbid, low turbidity means the water is clear. Suspended particles in the water can produce reflections and cause the water to be dim, so the more suspended particles in the water, the more turbid the water is. Such as the turbidity before and after using the water filter, monitoring the turbidity of the solution after chemical treatment, and analyzing the turbidity of water containing various bacteria.

V. Caution
This product is only suitable for educational use, not for industrial, medical, research, or commercial applications.

VI. Usage Tips
1. For accurate readings, fill the test tube to the lid with at least 4 ml of sample, tighten the lid to prevent light from entering, and avoid measuring under strong light;
2. Avoid using or diluting dark samples, which will have greater errors;
3. Before measuring turbidity, remove “suspended matter” or large, visible sediment particles from the sample (use a pipette or filter to remove sediment), as these substances will cause reading errors;
4. For accurate measurements, measure immediately after the sample is prepared and before the suspended particles in the solution settle;
5. Gently shake the test tube back and forth to ensure that the particles are evenly mixed. Do not shake the test tube violently and do not create bubbles!
6. When you are finished, rinse the sample colorimetric tube with distilled water;
7. Generally add 2.5 to 4 ml of test solution to the container to ensure that the liquid level is above the emission angle of the diode, otherwise, it will cause errors in the measurement results.
